BIRKEGAARDENS GARDENS | Visit online - click here >>
The Danish / English Garden of 10,000 m2 is a beautiful color experience year round. Highlights of the spring are tulips, set in neat color order and rhododendron. In summer it is all summer flowers and roses and autumn are the Georgians. The garden is very romantic with many details like fountain, marble figurines, beds are framed by small trimmed hedges and many more details that belong in an English garden.

The Japanese inspired Garden a total of 8,000 m2 is completely original built with stone, lighting and trees trimmed. Waiting houses and pavilion are places so you can sit in the shade and enjoy the garden. The Japanese inspired Garden is divided into five large and small garden sections; Promenade Garden, Sand Garden, Meditation Garden, Stone Garden and Wall Garden.

The Prairie Garden begins its profusion of flowers in June with drought tolerant perennials, and is looking great right up in October with its elegant grasses and froze tooth. The Prairie Garden is described in several garden books including the "Garden Dreams" by Claus Dalby (known Danish garden expert).

The Convent garden is for you who are interested in herbs and medicinal herbs. Here are 16 raised beds filled with herbs and with a romantic fountain in the middle.

The Artist Garden is located in oak forests around the lake. This year it wood sculptor Flemming Mundt, who exhibits his very realistic wooden sculptures of animals.

The oak forest is 8.000 m2 of peaceful nature, which is embellished with rhododendron. The forest was planted in 1998 to give shelter to the gardens. Today, the trees are five meters high and it is wonderful to walk in the "almost" undisturbed forest especially on a hot summer day. The animals got a small part of the forest, where many of them likes to nap in the shade of the leaves.
